Financial stewardship

Charitable money should be traceable, controlled and mission-focused.

This page describes the Foundation’s financial-control framework. It is not a substitute for future audited, reviewed or filed financial statements when those become applicable.

Separate accounts

Foundation funds should remain separate from personal and privately owned business accounts.

Board-approved planning

Material spending should be tied to an approved budget, program authorization, contract or documented delegation.

Payment authority

Authorized signers and electronic-payment authority should be documented, with stronger review for material transfers and disbursements.

Reconciliation

Bank, processor and material financial accounts should be reconciled regularly, with separation of initiation and review when practical.

Restricted funds

Accepted donor and grant restrictions should be tracked and honored for the authorized purpose.

Independent review

Audit, review, compilation or other independent financial examination should be obtained when required by law, grant, contract, donor restriction or Board decision.

Future public reporting

As operations develop, public reporting should include financial highlights, revenue and expenses, cash position, liabilities, material restricted funds and other information appropriate to the Foundation’s scale and legal obligations.

Current status: this page does not claim that an audit, Form 990 or annual financial report has already been issued. Those records will be added when applicable.
