The unit converter handles the everyday conversions that come up when travelling between the Philippines, the United States and elsewhere: distance in kilometres and miles, weight in kilograms and pounds, and temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit.
How to use it
- Choose a conversion from the Measurement list, for example Kilometers to miles.
- Type the value you want to convert.
- Choose Run tool. The converted value appears with its unit.
Screen-reader and keyboard tips
Results appear in a live region, so VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS and TalkBack read the answer as soon as it is ready without moving your focus. Press Tab to move between fields and Shift+Tab to go back. On an iPhone or iPad, swipe right with one finger to move through the form and double-tap to activate a button.
- Negative temperatures are accepted — type a minus sign before the number.
- Each option in the Measurement list names both units, so you always know which direction you are converting.
Ways people use it
- Understanding a weather forecast given in the other temperature scale.
- Checking baggage weight limits in kilograms or pounds before a flight.
- Converting running or walking distances.
