Brand and naming guide

Approved names, descriptions and linking practices for Mr. Blindbandit and Blindbandit Records.

Artist name

Use “Mr. Blindbandit” as the preferred artist styling. Kaeleb Savon Heck may be used when identifying the person behind the project.

Label name

Use “Blindbandit Records” for the independent label identity. Do not imply that the label represents an artist without confirmation.

Biography claims

Treat website biographies as artist-supplied information. Independent articles should verify material claims through appropriate sources.

Style notes for writers

Write “Mr. Blindbandit” with a capital M, a full stop after Mr and Blindbandit as one word. Avoid “Mr Blind Bandit” or “MrBlindbandit” except where a platform handle requires it.
Write “Blindbandit Records” for the label.
On first mention, “Mr. Blindbandit (Kaeleb Savon Heck)” is accurate. Afterwards, either name is fine.
Describe blindness accurately and plainly: he was born completely blind with Leber Congenital Amaurosis. Avoid phrases such as “despite his disability” or “sees through music.”
Release titles use the artist’s own capitalisation, for example weightless, cry forever and IKAW LANG SAPAT NA.

Good: “Mr. Blindbandit, the music name of Kaeleb Savon Heck, released weightless in 2026.”
Good: “Kaeleb Heck, who was born blind, produces music with screen readers and keyboard commands.”
Avoid: calling collaborators “Blindbandit Records artists” unless that has been confirmed.
Avoid: describing the artist as “suffering from” blindness or as “inspirational” simply for being blind. Describe the work.
